In many countries around the world, the income of the cultural industry accounts for a significant proportion of the country’s GDP, such as the UK contributed 8.6% to GDP (2014), China contributed 3.76% to GDP (2014), Japan accounted for 6.6% of total industry revenue and 2.19 million people employed in cultural industries (2011)…. But in Vietnam, the culture industry development is not commensurate with the potential and advantages of the country, the contribution of a number of the cultural industry reached $ 8 billion, accounting for nearly 2.6% of GDP (2015); the recent birth of the cultural market, not yet fully intergrated with the world market; the system of legal documents for cultural industry development is lacking, and there is an overlapping issues between ministries in the management of cultural industries. Therefore, developing a strategy for the development of the cultural industry until 2020, vision for 2030 is an urgent and essential task).

In particular, a number of major targets: By 2020, the total income of the cultural industries reached about 3% of GDP and create more jobs for the society, including the film industry reached 150 million USD (Vietnam film reached about 50 million USD); advertising (television, radio, newspapers, magazines, internet and outdoor advertising) reached US $ 1,500 million; cultural tourism accounts for 10-15% of the total of about 18000-19000 million revenue from tourists.
