58/ Registration opens for public hearing in “EU — Additional Duties on Certain Products from the United States”

At the request of the parties in the dispute “European Union — Additional Duties on Certain Products from the United States” (DS559), the panel has agreed to open its first substantive meeting with the parties to public viewing. The viewing will take place at WTO headquarters in Geneva on 24 September 2019.
This public session is expected to start at 9.30 am on Tuesday 24 September 2019. It may continue at 10.00 am on Wednesday 25 September 2019.
The panel will also open to public viewing its third parties session, which will be held on 24 September 2019 at 14.30. However, only statements from third parties wishing to speak in public will be broadcast.
Public viewing of both sessions will take place via a closed-circuit television broadcast.
The number of places in the viewing room reserved for the public will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis upon receipt of a completed registration form. Applications will be accepted until 17.00, Geneva time, on Wednesday 18 September 2019.
Members of the public whose registration has been confirmed will need to present a valid official photo identification on-site to access the meeting room. They are requested to arrive in good time, as security checks may delay access to the viewing room.
Please note that any form of recording or filming is prohibited. As a courtesy to other participants, cell phones should be switched off during the public viewing.
Please note that the WTO is unable to offer any support, including financial, logistical or visa assistance, to persons wishing to attend the open hearing.
