Dr. Ngo Duc Tuan and his colleagues, have been awarded for outstanding scientific work supporting defense and security of Australia .

Talking to the Reporter , Dr. Ngo Duc Tuan ( 39 years old ) said , on 4/9 , the research team of the Centre of Defence Materials Technology Australia ( University of Melbourne ) because he was team leader award Eureka prize .

This is an annual award given to the outstanding achievements , the invention have a big impact and applicability on different areas such as medicine , the environment , or national security .

” I felt quite surprised that this is a prestigious award by the scientific community across Australia and is the highly competitive ,” said Dr. Tuan said .

The award is for the high-intensity materials and composite structures to enhance protection for armored military vehicles against the impact of landmines on the battlefield . The new material technology can be applied in many fields such as structural reinforcement , bridges, tunnels , airports .

” Our team made ​​the subject almost 4 years and was fortunate to have good results , the company applied the defense ,” the scientists said.

Besides applications in the field of defense technology and structural composite material by Dr Tuan and his colleagues are developing can be widely applied in the field of population and industry , enhances the ability to protection against natural disasters and special effects such as fire .

At the award ceremony , Dr Alex Zelinsky , chairman of the Defense Science Australian Government congratulated the team and said that , thanks to this study , Australia will maintain the ability to design and manufacture equipment adjacent to the cell performance and high security features .

After graduating from the University of Civil Engineering and faculty , Ngo Duc Tuan Australia to do it in the doctoral work from 2000 . He said the research center he works pretty busy since received many research projects of the Australian government and contract research companies .

In 2011, Dr. Tuan held national security studies RNSA awarded best research on security and protection of Australia’s key projects .
